About this file

This document is an Amendment to Solicitation (Standard Form 30) for Optician Services issued by UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries, for the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Correctional Facilities. The solicitation (EL1050-25) seeks a contractor to provide optician services, with a proposal deadline of 4/21/25 at 2:00 PM EST. The current incumbent is MW Optical, with the previous award number 15UC0C22D00000001 posted on sam.gov on 10/14/2021.

Key details include contractor requirements such as employee residency qualifications (legally residing in the US, working overseas for federal/military, or being a dependent of a federal/military employee) and pre-service requirements like urinalysis through the Human Resource Department. Minor personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and lab coats will be required, and the successful offeror will receive a monthly reporting template at the contract's start. The solicitation indicates that the contractor will be notified of specific details about urinalysis, PPE, and reporting formats after award.
