NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

RE: AK DOT 135(1)

Glenn Highway Chickaloon Bridge Solicitation No. DTFH70-14-B-00019

The attached preliminary plans are being furnished to aid prospective Bidders in identifying the location and type of work for this project. The project will be advertised during a period when viewing of the project may not be possible due to snow. Therefore, prospective Offerors are encouraged to view the project during fall as conditions permit. No Federal Highway Administration personnel will be available for show-me tours.

Project Location and Type of Work - All project work is located in Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Alaska, approximately 31 miles NE of Palmer, Alaska.

Work on this project consists of grading, minor drainage, base, paving, construction of a 3 span, 350-foot long pre-stressed concrete girder bridge with cast-in-place concrete deck. Abutments are founded on drilled shaft. Piers are supported on drilled shaft. The work includes demolition of the existing steel girder bridge upon completion of the new structure and other small items of work.
