How to Use the SSDI Contract, Inc. Warranty Plan for Security Equipment
As according to contract XXXXX-XX-X-XXX with the FAA, SSDI Contractor is required to provide a 45 calendar day warranty on equipment and work performed for technical refresh, and for new facility installations. This would specifically exclude for loss or damage resulting from negligence, abuse, improper maintenance, operation or alteration of the equipment or failure of the owner to keep the equipment in good repair and condition.
Each facility shall designate a point of contact. The FAA point of contact will be the interface for the SSDI Contractor technician in the event that questions arise.
The telephone number for the point of contact will be placed on the “Contract Acceptance Inspection and Warranty Commencement Record” (CAI) form along with the facility address. The responding technician will then contact the site for pre-site visit information.
When calling the SSDI Contractor for warranty service, you must inform the person answering the telephone call of the Site ID Number as listed at the top of this document.
You may obtain warranty service by calling XXX-XXX-XXXX. Provide the operator with the following information:
• The Site I. D. Number located at the top of this document,
• The name of the person placing the call,
• A short description of the problem, and
• The best method and time for a response phone call from the SSDI Contractors service technician.
The operator will contact the technician on call with facility information and instruct them to contact the facility.
The SSDI Contractor will return the call within two (2) hours of the warranty service call from the facility.
The SSDI Contractor technician will call the facility to determine the extent of the problem. In some cases, troubleshooting will be possible by telephone. If a visit to the site is required, the technician will be at the site within 24 hours.
After a site evaluation of the problem (if required), the SSDI Contractor technician will advise the site whether the equipment can be fixed immediately or if a part is needed. If a part is required that is not within available stock, the technician will either obtain a replacement piece of equipment or a replacement part, whichever will better expedite resolution of the problem.
If a new piece of equipment or a new part is replaced, the warranty period will continue to be monitored from the original warranty start date.
