About this file

The document is a Drug-Free Workplace Form from the City of Gainesville Procurement Division, designed to comply with Florida Statute 287.087. This form requires bidders for the City of Gainesville's construction project at 2100 SE Hawthorne Road to certify their commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace by meeting six specific requirements, including publishing a statement prohibiting controlled substances, informing employees about drug abuse dangers, providing employees with policy documentation, and requiring notification of drug-related convictions.

The form serves as a mandatory certification for potential contractors, ensuring that businesses seeking to work on the City of Gainesville's grocery store development project adhere to strict workplace drug policies. By signing this document, the authorized representative of the bidding company attests to implementing comprehensive drug-free workplace protocols, including employee education, policy communication, and potential rehabilitation or disciplinary actions for drug-related workplace violations. This requirement is part of the broader procurement process for the proposed 30,000-40,000 square foot mixed-use development that will include a grocery store, commercial bank, and additional retail spaces.
