About this file

This document is a Draft Specification Section 01 11 00 Summary of Work for the South Rim Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Replacement Project at Grand Canyon National Park. The project involves constructing a new 0.65 million gallons per day treatment facility, which includes multiple components such as a headworks building, septage receiving station, process building, process tanks, equalization tank, reclaimed water tank, digester facility, drying beds, compost facility, odor control facility, administration building, maintenance building, emergency generator, and associated site improvements.

The project will be executed in three distinct phases: Access Road Improvements, South Rim WWTP Phase 1 (constructing new facilities), South Rim WWTP Phase 2 (decommissioning existing facilities), and South Rim WWTP Phase 3 (completing remaining site restoration and facilities). The work includes site preparation, tree removal, relocation of existing storage containers, utility connections, site grading, landscaping, and a 12-month operation and maintenance period for the new treatment facilities. Optional work items include radon gas mitigation testing and potential installation of active mitigation systems.
