About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a design-build project to replace and install Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units at the USGS/Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The project requires installing seven dual-cool CRAC units (22-ton and 30-ton units) with chilled water as the primary cooling source and backup compressors across three computer rooms. The scope includes removing five existing units and adding two new units.
The contractor must provide all design, installation, and startup services within 360 days of Notice to Proceed. Key requirements include: designing/installing chilled water piping compatible with existing Honeywell building automation systems, analyzing and installing new electrical distribution components, providing dust control measures, and maintaining continuous operation of computer rooms during installation. The contractor must provide warranties of 1 year for parts and 2-5 years for compressors. Deliverables include construction documents within 60 days of NTP, construction schedule, submittal log, and as-built drawings. The contractor must coordinate with the COR for utility shutdowns with 48-hour advance notice and conduct at least two mandatory site visits during construction.

EROS Science Center Design / Build
Dual Cool CRACs Units
STATEMENT OF WORK
Introduction
The Department of Interior, USGS/Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota is seeking firms to Design/Build new Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units at the Mundt Federal Building, located at the EROS Science Center, 47914 252nd Street, Sioux Falls SD 57198.
EROS data center has computer room air conditioner (CRAC) units and these units need to be replaced due to age. Some units are chilled water only and some are dual-cool units with compressors. EROS data center will be installing dual-cooled type CRAC units with chilled water as primary source of cooling with backup compressors to eliminate the need for a computer room outage during rare service times. The installation and startup of the CRAC units will be completed by the contractor furnishing the CRAC units.
Scope Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. Drawings will be given to parties after attending the site-visit and filing paperwork with the Contracting Officer for release of documents.
This SOW includes:
