About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to a Colorado state contract opportunity for the Parks and Wildlife Division's PMAA and EDPV programs seeking fishing rod and reel supplies for angler education purposes during Fiscal Year 2016. The document addresses clarification on fishing rod guide specifications, specifically regarding the requirement for double-foot guides with inserts. The inquiry clarifies that the double-foot guide specification is intended to improve durability for use with children rather than to mandate premium materials such as aluminum oxide; chrome plating or standard materials are acceptable provided the guides feature double feet rather than single feet for enhanced structural integrity.

No additional pricing terms, set-asides, funding amounts, incumbent information, or contract award dates are specified in this Questions and Answers document. The file serves solely to provide clarification on a technical specification related to the rod guides as requested during the bidding process.

DQ1 2016*0559 Q&A

Questions & Answers:

1. We are questioning the specs for the guides on the fishing rod. The requirement is two

(double) foot guides with inserts. If this is to intend a higher quality guide such as aluminum oxide that will add to the cost. If it intends to be a chrome plate?

We are not looking for a higher quality guide. We just want the guides to have a double foot opposed to a single so that it is more durable. Single foot guides and kids don’t usually hold up well.
