About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for RFx 3150006703, issued by the Mississippi State Hospital to clarify procurement requirements for contract weekend registered nurses. The Mississippi State Hospital seeks to hire 15 contract weekend RNs total: 5 positions for the Jaquith Nursing Home and 10 positions for Inpatient Psychiatric Services. The procurement is open exclusively to individual applicants and is not available to staffing agencies or corporate entities. Candidates must apply directly through the State Hospital website and submit resumes only, with a deadline of February 16, 2026, at noon. All qualified applicants must possess an unrestricted Mississippi nursing license, current American Heart Association BLS and/or ACLS certifications, and three current signed letters of recommendation. The contract period runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with weekend scheduling requirements of a minimum of two weekends per month at 24 to 40 hours per weekend, plus a minimum of 6 state-mandated holidays including either Christmas or Thanksgiving.
The compensation is set at a non-negotiable rate of $42 per hour, representing the flat pay rate for contract workers with an anticipated average of 40 hours per week. The total estimated annual award value is approximately $87,360 for the full year period, though actual costs will vary based on final hours worked and specific weekend distributions. No set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or incumbent vendor information are identified. The document clarifies that this procurement is for temporary staffing services and that the $42 per hour rate applies to the direct pay to workers, not as a bill rate or staffing agency markup. Applicants requiring additional information may contact Katrina Fields at 601-351-8239 or Katrina.Fields@msh.ms.gov.

February 3, 2026-Question- via Email from Unnati Tiwari-Cynet Health- Could you please confirm whether this bid is open to all qualified vendors, including staffing firms, or if it is limited to a pre-selected vendor list? Is the solicitation open for corporate entities and staffing agencies, or restricted to individuals only? Does the submission require live/actual resumes of proposed personnel at the time of bid submission? If yes, are there any specific format or credential requirements we should be aware of? The solicitation references a rate of $42 per hour — can you please confirm whether this is intended to be the bill rate (inclusive of vendor markup) or the straight pay rate to the worker?

February 9, 2026-Question- via Email from Ehab Bakth-ND Global Consulting Services- We are reviewing RFx 3150006703 for the JNH and IPS Weekend RN services and would appreciate clarification on a few items to ensure our submission is fully compliant with the agency’s expectations:

1. If a technical proposal is required, is there a specific format, structure, or evaluation criteria that vendors should follow?
1. Are there any page limits or content requirements for a technical proposal, if applicable?
1. Should resumes and supporting documentation be submitted with the initial response, or only after contract award?
1. If resumes are required at submission, should vendors submit resumes for all proposed candidates or only a minimum number per position?
1. What is the preferred method of submission for responses — email, mail/hand delivery, or either?
1. For licensure requirements, if a candidate does not currently hold an unrestricted Mississippi RN license, are licenses from other states (e.g., compact/NLC states) acceptable, provided the candidate obtains a Mississippi license before the contract start date?
