Q1. Question: Will we be emailed a PDF version of the drawings as discussed at pre-bid?
Answer: Yes, they have been sent to those who left e-mail addresses. Please remember that these are for official use, and should be destroyed upon completion of the project.
Q2. Question: Will there be a clarification of the paint spec? Type of paint and sheen.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO OFFEROR’S QUESTIONS
b) The purpose of this Amendment is to provide Government responses to industry questions:
Answer: There will be no further clarification of the paint specifications other than what is in the amended solicitation.
Q3. Question: Will maintenance shop be prepared for wall paint, i.e. moving items away from wall, by “others” or bidder?
Answer: Bids should be made with the assumption that the contractor is responsible to move all non-personal items away from the walls. The only exceptions are the two gun safes that were identified in the walk around.
Q4. Question: SOW (SEC 1 PAR 1 and section 2.1.1 states “painting of window frames”. The window frames look to be factory finish. Are these window frames to be painted?
Answer: The Statement of Work (SOW) was built to allow leeway for the contractor to utilize their expertise to determine the degree and manner of painting required to meet the specifications. The contractor should determine if the current condition of the window sills is within the PDCA Level 3 Industry standards and adjust their bids accordingly.
SF30 Continuation of Block Narrative Page 3 of 3
Answer: The bathroom paint type was clarified in the amended solicitation for the gym bathrooms only. The SOW offers the leeway for the contractor to determine and include any modifications to the paint specifications within the framework of remaining within the PDCA industry standards. Recommended modifications should be clearly identified in the contractor bid.
Q8.Question: Clarify scope in regards to removing of “wall paper” from sound deadening panels. Not known as to what is behind wallpaper after removal.
Answer: Wall paper should be removed, and the surface should be restored to PDCA industry standards. Reasonable expectations should be considered when estimating surface preparation costs.
Q9. Question: In “dispatch room”, are we to paint cabinets? Current cabinets have same stain as trim and doors. No good breaking point from trim to cabinets. If we are to paint, what is scope, just door fronts, fronts and frames, or all of cabinet inside and out?
Answer: Permanent built-in cabinets and shelving should be considered part of the walls and are within the scope of this project.
c) The due date for quotes is not extended. Due date remains 11:00 am CST, June 12, 2017.
d) All other terms and conditions remain the same.
Q5. Question: Clarify scope in regards to stair risers and railing. Touchup as needed, no work, or full repaint?
Answer: The stair risers and railings are not indicated in the SOW and will not be required in the scope of this project.
Q6. Question: The “battery” room on first floor was not discussed in detail. Is this room to be painted?
Answer: Only those rooms identified in the amended solicitation will be required.
