About this file

This is a specification requirements document for audio/video forensic workstations to be procured through a workstation refresh initiative, updated July 29, 2026.

The workstations will be used for processing audio, video, and graphics using commercial video processing programs. All components must be new with no refurbished or recycled materials permitted. The CPU/processor must be an AMD Ryzen Threadripper with 384 MB L3 cache, 96 cores, 192 threads, and 2.5 GHz to 5.1 GHz turbo speed (or equal/better core and processing speed performance). The system requires Windows 11 Pro 64-bit operating system; an AMD WRX90 motherboard chipset (or better); 512GB DDR 55600 MHz RAM expandable to 2 TB; and an NVidia RTXPro 6000 graphics card with 96GB+ VRAM minimum (or better CUDA core/speed performance). Storage includes four drives: 1TB SSD for OS, 2TB SSD for temp/swap, 8TB SSD for processing, and 48TB HDD RAID for evidence/long-term storage (4x12TB HDD preferred). The case must feature front drive bay enclosures with hot swap capability, DVD/Blu Ray optical drive, and ASIO-compatible 7.1+ audio. Required front-panel forensic bridges include a Tableau T356789iu for hardware write-blocked imaging and a Tableau T3iu write blocker for integrated SATA drive bays. Connectivity includes 8 USB 3.0/3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports and 4 USB4 version 2.0 Type C ports on the front; 8 USB 2.0 ports and 8 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports in back; 4 HDMI ports; 2 display ports; one 1000 Mbps Gigabit NIC; and Wi-Fi 6 E/7 triband at 5400 Mbps. The system must include a RAID controller, 1600W power supply capable of continuous 24/7 operation for extended periods, multi-bay vertical tower or open-frame modular cube chassis with six or more 5.25-inch drive bays, and sufficient cooling for continuous operation lasting months. A 3-year warranty is required.
