About this file
This is a Question and Answer document for Invitation for Bid (IFB) B-50236 regarding dish machine procurement at Illinois River Correctional Center. The document addresses technical specifications and installation requirements for a flight-type dish washing machine intended for the facility's dietary department. Key specifications include a round duct system made from stainless steel if modifications are needed, a CFM rating of 1500 at 0.63 water column, and power requirements of 460 three-phase volts with three breakers rated at 120, 60, and 25 amps. The facility processes up to 4,800 trays daily depending on lockdown status. Critical installation requirements specify that the vendor is responsible for shipping, transportation, and delivery of the machine into the dietary building, with total loading and unloading space of 22.5 feet available. A factory technician is required to perform startup on the flight-type machine, and plumbing work must be performed by a certified plumber.
Responsibility for various aspects of the installation are divided between the vendor and Illinois River Correctional Center staff. The center will coordinate detergent removal and installation, remove walls and windows necessary for delivery and installation, and construct a cage around the water softener after installation. The water softener will be located in the dish room with the machine. The vendor must communicate machine dimensions to the facility to ensure sufficient access during delivery. No liftgate is required for unloading, as the facility will not receive the shipment directly but instead requires the vendor to bring equipment to the site.
