About this file
This document is an Amendment 2 to the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) 2026 Research Announcement (RA), introducing targeted updates to the original solicitation. The amendment specifically modifies Section III: Submission Information to include details on DARPA YFA's survey research and updates Section IV: Special Considerations by adding a new DARPAConnect Learning resource titled "Fueling Innovation: Applying for the DARPA Young Faculty Award."
The underlying YFA program, administered by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), aims to identify and engage early-career researchers in academia and non-profit research institutions to develop innovative research with national security applications. The program falls under the Research and Technology Development federal grant program (CFDA 12.910) and will provide high-impact funding to support transformative research that can create technological advances across domains such as quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced materials. The funding instrument is a cooperative agreement, with typical awards ranging from $100,000 to $2.8 million and performance periods of 12 to 36 months.
