About this file
This document is an Amendment 2 to the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) 2026 Research Announcement. The amendment updates two specific sections of the original document: Section III: Submission Information, which now includes information on DARPA YFA's survey research, and Section IV: Special Considerations, which adds a new DARPAConnect Learning resource titled "Fueling Innovation: Applying for the DARPA Young Faculty Award."
The underlying federal grant opportunity is administered by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and aims to identify and engage rising academic researchers, particularly those without prior DARPA funding. The Young Faculty Award program provides high-impact funding to early-career researchers to develop innovative research that enables transformative Department of Defense capabilities. The grant falls under the Research and Technology Development program (CFDA 12.910), supporting high-risk, high-reward research across diverse scientific and technological domains with potential national security applications.
