About this file
This is Amendment #2 to a Request for Bid (D21-027-O) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), a Wisconsin state agency, for the furnish and installation of new uninterruptible power supply (UPS) batteries for Mitsubishi equipment. The project involves the replacement of 120 existing 12HX505-FR 12V506W valve-regulated lead-acid batteries with comparable new batteries, including removal and disposal of the existing units. The replacement batteries must be new (not refurbished), manufacturer-recommended for use, with a minimum three-year full warranty and seven-year pro-rated warranty coverage. The original bid release date was February 19, 2021, with Amendment #2 issued on March 1, 2021, and a bid due date of March 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM. Installation work can be performed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM). The UPS equipment is located on the first floor of the UWM facility with a loading dock available for delivery.
The amendment addresses 24 questions from prospective bidders regarding delivery logistics, site conditions, and installation requirements. Key site details include the availability of a secure adjacent room for battery storage for up to one week prior to installation, no loading dock restrictions on truck timing or height, no requirement for a lift gate, no pallet jack availability on-site, no floor protection needed, and no obstructions between the loading dock and UPS location. Pallets may be brought to the adjacent room but individual batteries must be manually carried into the UPS room. A department representative will coordinate on-site timing and delivery logistics. No pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent information, or contract term details are specified in this amendment document.
