The contract covers normal requirements for mice quantities ordered by the laboratory during a one-year period from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012. The Director of Purchases may extend the contract for up to two additional periods beyond the expiration date at their discretion with contractor consent. The contractor is responsible for delivering items in first-class condition at the designated laboratory during normal work hours, with shipments scheduled to arrive on the same day of the week for each weekly order placed. All communications regarding questions must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer link on the solicitation details page.

The estimated contract value is $75,000 for the one-year period, though the actual value depends on quantities ordered. Prices are to remain firm throughout the contract duration and include all transaction charges with F.O.B. Destination terms. The State of Maine requires vendors to accept the State Procurement Card as a form of payment with no surcharges or additional compensation allowed regardless of payment method. The State is exempt from federal excise taxes and state sales taxes. Contractors must submit separate invoices for each order number within 30 days of delivery, referencing the Delivery Order Number, Contract Number, and Vendor Customer Number. The Director of Purchases reserves the right to cancel the contract with thirty days' written notice or immediately if the contractor fails to conform to contract terms. The sole contact for inquiries is Beth Obie, Buyer II, at the State of Maine Division of Purchases in Augusta.
