About this file
This document is a Pinellas County Vehicle and Rental Activation Policy detailing protocols for vehicle usage during emergency situations in Florida. The policy outlines comprehensive guidelines for county and rental vehicle management, including driver qualifications, vehicle check-out/check-in procedures, and emergency preparedness requirements. Key stipulations include that all drivers must be county employees with acceptable Motor Vehicle Reports, complete a driver safety course, and be qualified to operate assigned vehicles.
The related state and local contract opportunity is a general solicitation for Emergency/Disaster Response Goods & Services issued by Pinellas County's Department of Administrative Services, Purchasing Division. The ongoing advertisement allows vendors to submit quotes for emergency-related goods and services, with individual awards not exceeding $150,000. The county's objective is to ensure adequate resources are available before, during, and after emergency events, with the ability to coordinate across federal, state, and local agencies and municipalities. The solicitation is structured as an Invitation to Quote (ITQ), providing flexibility for ongoing vendor engagement and emergency response preparedness.
