About this file
This is a Contractor Registration Information document from the Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Central Procurement Bureau that outlines the process for vendors to conduct business with the State of Iowa. The document provides a three-step process beginning with vendor registration through the IMPACS system, followed by identification of bidding opportunities listed on the DAS website, and concluding with contract award and payment procedures. Vendors must register with appropriate IMPACS commodity codes to receive electronic notifications of solicitation opportunities. The state uses a commodity code classification system to categorize the types of goods and services it procures, and vendors are encouraged to select the correct codes relevant to their business to ensure they receive targeted bid notifications.
The document does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent contractors, or funding amounts, as it functions as an informational guide rather than a specific solicitation. The state has published historical payment data organized by commodity code and fiscal year (FY16 through FY22) to assist vendors in understanding state purchasing patterns. All vendor registration forms, federal identification forms (W-9), and electronic funds transfer authorization forms must be submitted to the Iowa Department of Administrative Services, Central Procurement Bureau, located in the Hoover State Office Building in Des Moines. Vendors may contact the procurement office via phone at 515-281-7073 or email at purchasing.mailbox@iowa.gov for additional assistance and vendor orientation.
