About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to Contract No. CON26-0046, issued by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department on March 10, 2026, amending the Edgehill Trees project specifications. The project involves tree removal and pruning work at Edgehill Park in San Francisco, California. Trees approved for removal will be marked with a single yellow spray-paint dot on the west side of the trunk, with one tree designated for pruning only and left unmarked. All removals and pruning actions will follow a hazard-tree assessment, with approved trees cut 2-3 inches above ground level, including previously fallen or cut stumps. The non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM at approximately 199 Knockash Hill, and bids are due Tuesday, March 17, 2026 by 2:30 PM, submitted via email to bridget.webster@sfgov.org. Addendum No. 1 does not change the bid due date.

This is a Micro-LBE Set-Aside solicitation requiring a D-49 license, with a cost estimate of $120,000. Eucalyptus stumps may be treated with either 100% Capstone or 8% Polaris, with the contractor required to record product usage and submit documentation to the RPD IPM Unit within three days of application. The contractor must coordinate the application date with RPD to allow for three-day pre-application posting and coordinate road closures on Kensington Way with MTA or the appropriate city agency, including arranging required No Parking postings. The contractor must also coordinate use of Edgehill Way with nearby residents. All material within the dripline of removed trees and any fallen debris extending beyond the dripline must be removed from the project area. RPD will post tree-removal notices 30 days prior to project start.

Clarifications and Responses from Walkthrough and Email Inquiries:

1. Trees approved for removal will be marked on the west side of the trunk with a single yellow spray-paint dot.

2. One tree will be pruned only; this tree will not be painted.

3. All removals and the single pruning action will follow the assessment to confirm hazard-tree removals and required pruning.

4. All trees approved for removal will be cut 2–3 inches above ground level after applications are made.

This requirement also applies to trees that do not require applications. Previously fallen or cut stumps will also require the 2–3 inch pruning.

5. Eucalyptus stumps may be treated with either 100% Capstone or 8% Polaris.

a. The contractor must record the amount of product used and submit this information to the RPD IPM Unit within 3 days after the application.

b. The contractor must coordinate the application date with RPD to allow for the required 3-day pre-application posting.

c. RPD will post notices in the park and on the slope above Kensington Way to inform park users prior to the application.

6. RPD will post tree-removal notices at both Edgehill Way and the upper end of Kensington Way 30 days prior to the start of the project.

7. Coordination regarding the use of Edgehill Way must be arranged by the contractor with nearby residents.

8. The Kensington Way road closure must be coordinated by the contractor with MTA or the appropriate city agency, including arranging the required No Parking postings.

9. All material on the ground in the project area must be removed. The project area includes material within the dripline of the trees being removed, as well as fallen trees or debris that may extend beyond the dripline.
