About this file
This document is a Sole Source Posting issued by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on April 16, 2025, seeking to purchase a specific gravimeter from Scintrex Limited. The agency intends to acquire a CG-6 Autograv model high-precision, rugged, and portable relative gravimeter for geophysical field surveys, with the purchase to be completed on or after April 16, 2025. Potential offerors are required to submit capability statements within ten working days detailing their ability to meet specific technical requirements, including resolution of 0.1 µGal, repeatability of 5 µGal, portability under 12 lbs, environmental durability from -40°C to +45°C, and quartz sensor technology.
The total purchase cost is $121,588.97, which includes packing, freight, and shipping insurance. DNR has determined that Scintrex Limited is the only known manufacturer meeting their rigorous field and accuracy standards, and intends to make a sole source award in the absence of other capable sources. Interested vendors can contact Crystal Joselyn at 360.870.4379 or crystal.joselyn@dnr.wa.gov to submit capability statements or ask questions about the procurement.

Vendor capability statements should address how they are qualified and capable of performing the following requirements:
Ability to provide a gravimeter with 0.1 µGal or better resolution Proven repeatability of 5 µGal or better across rugged field conditions Field-ready portability (under 12 lbs) with backpack-compatible form factor (9.5 in x 8.5 in x
9 in size (W x D x H) or smaller Environmental durability (operation between -40°C to +45°C, shock resistance up to
20g, dust/water resistance) Quartz sensor and dustproof Ability to meet delivery date as outlined above.
In the absence of other capable sources, it is the state’s intent to make a sole source award of the contract. To submit capability statements or for questions, contact:
