About this file

This document is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by Lewis County, Washington, for a doors and windows procurement project for the new Community Development Building. The county is seeking a qualified vendor to produce pre-finished, pre-hung, solid core interior doors made of Clear Vertical Grain Fir, wooden-framed windows, and matching trim. The project timeline includes a non-mandatory walkthrough on November 30, 2023, at 125 NW Chehalis Ave., with question submissions due by December 5, 2023, and proposal submissions due by December 7, 2023. The door schedule includes 15 different door specifications ranging from 3'0" x 86" with various jamb sizes and configurations, totaling 26 doors, and a window schedule of 6 vertical 2' x 5' windows and 3 horizontal 18" x 4' windows.

Lewis County will conduct two quality control inspections: one at the vendor's shop and another upon delivery at the project site. Any blemishes or damage will result in replacement at the vendor's expense. Vendors must be licensed to work in Washington state, complete a non-collusion affidavit, and provide a 5% bid bond for projects over $125,000. The county is pursuing this procurement as part of a broader initiative to create a "County Campus" in downtown Chehalis, consolidating government buildings and rejuvenating the historic downtown area. The project aims to improve accessibility and create a centralized hub for county services within walking distance.
