QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. Can you possibly provide which systems this would apply to so we can budget accordingly? “Because of the specialized operations in some areas protected by the CO2 systems, it may be necessary to perform the operations after normal working hours or on weekends.”

This would apply to any of our systems. It would most likely occur during emergencies if there is no opportunity to schedule in advance with the researchers.

2. How many detectors (of each type) are installed on each system?

See attachment entitled “AFRL RQOE Fire Suppression System Device Count” provided with Amendment 1 to the solicitation.

3. Are the previous inspection reports available?

Previous inspection reports will not be made available.

4. Under Listing/Description of Items, there is a quantity of 12 and unit of months shown for CLIN # 1000 to 1004, however these line items appear to apply to the annual inspection and testing only, which we believe should be a quantity of 1 and unit of year. Please advise.

CLINs 1000 – 1004: Annual inspection will be a period of 1 year. Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and billed by the contractor following the completion of each month of support. CLIN totals will be divided by twelve (12) and billed accordingly as identified in the contract schedule.

CLINs 2000 – 2004: Time and Materials (T&M) and billed by the contractor following completion of each month of support in accordance with the labor categories/labor rates proposed/identified in the contract.

5. Can you please clarify what Labor Categories A-D are referring to in the PWS?

CLINs 2000 – 2004: Labor categories and corresponding labor rates should be identiried in support of the Time and Materials (T&M) portion of the requirement in accordance with the PWS.

6. According to NFPA 12, the CO2 cylinders are to be weighed on a semi-annual basis. Are you anticipating only annual or semi-annual?

NFPA 12 does require semi-annual weighing. PWS has been revised and provided with Amendment 1 to the solicitation.

7. How often do you hydrotest high-pressure cylinders?

Every 12 years as required by NFPA 12.
