(16) Background: Graver high flow filter cartridges are needed to support the objectives of the Building 6 Shared Zebrafish facility (SZF), which is operated and managed by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), Research Animal Management Branch (RAMB).

The filters ensure biosecurity for 11,000 holding tanks and 150,000 fish. These filters are a critical component used by the facility to ensure debris and embryos do not slip through and end up in the fish tanks causing genetic contamination.

Failure to change these filters on-time would result in compromised water quality and water pressure. This jeopardizes the health of the animals and research data, which could have significant impacts on the agency

(17) Description of the Requirement: It is critical to the success of the contract that the contractor have a sufficient supply chain network and the ability to work with the manufacturer to effectively acquire, fine-tune the filters to meet facility specifications and requirements, and deliver the filters in the required time frame to ensure the facility has no lapse in coverage.

Due to the size of the filters and the limited storage space available at the Government facility, temperature-controlled vermin proof storage space is needed until delivery to maintain timed deliveries to the facility and mitigate risks associated with supply chain issues and delivery delays. Storing the filters in temperature controlled/vermin proof space is important to ensure that nomicrobiological pathogen contamination is carried into the facility.

Due to changes in water pressure or to the water quality due to issues with the Government building/structure, the ability to work with the manufacturer to make fine tuning adjustments to the filters to make sure filters produced meet the facility's requirements to ensure consistency in quality is needed. This is important to ensure effectiveness is maintained because the needs of the facility can fluctuate.

The Contractor shall deliver High Flow Cartridges/Filter Elements, with the following specifications: 6" Diameter, 40" Length, 20 Micron, Silicone Gasket, Polypropylene Construction, Pleated. The Contractor shall deliver 64 Cartridges/ Filters at a frequency of 2 times per month.
