About this file
This is Addendum #1 to a door replacement project for Clinton schools involving exterior and interior door installations at the Upper Elementary building. The project encompasses door frame replacements, hardware installations, and glass/lite kit specifications for both interior and exterior doors. The project timeline requires work to commence at the end of the 2025-2026 school year (after June 5, 2026) and be completed prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year (by August 16, 2026). Key clarifications include specifications that exterior door frames may be either clear anodized or dark bronze to match existing frames, door M13 (Ex.13) has been added with hardware-only replacement requirements, and interior door windows must feature tempered glass positioned opposite the lock on the high side of the door, while exterior door glass must be 1-inch insulated units.
The addendum addresses critical project requirements and cost considerations, including confirmation that bidders must include all electrical work necessary for sliding door operator connections, as the district does not have an in-house electrician. A $10,000 allowance has been established for floor and wall damage repairs during installation. An error correction clarifies that existing door access control systems should be integrated with Door Ex.7 rather than Door Ex.8 as originally listed in the RFP. Specific glass and lite kit requirements are provided for both interior and exterior doors to ensure consistency with project specifications.

Addendum #1
Meeting Questions
1. The high school doors on that building had clear anodized frames while the existing exterior frames at the Upper El are dark bronze. Is it correct to assume frames at Upper
El will be dark bronze as not all frames are being replaced?
a. Exterior Door Frames that called to be replaced can either be clear anodized or dark bronze to match the existing frames on the Upper El.
2. Exterior Door M13 was not included on the drawings. Will this door be included in the
RFP? If so, can you please provide extent of replacement.
a. This door was missed on the original RFP, it has been added as Ex.13 on
Addendum #2. Only Hardware will need to be replaced on this door.
3. Regarding the existing sliding door, are we to carry the cost for the electrical demo, and connection for the new operator or does the district have an electrician they typically work with for this?
a. The district does not have an electrician and the bid will need to include any electrical work
4. Per our discussion at the walkthrough I believed you mentioned to carry a 10k allowance for floor and wall damage repairs, just wanted to get that formally mentioned.
a. Yes, there is a $10,000 allowance for floor and wall damage repairs
5. Is this project assumed to be a start of and completion of summer 2026. Start at end of school, completed prior to school start?
a. Yes, school is over June 5th 2026 and project should be completed by August 16th
6. It was stated during the walk through that the windows on the interior doors are to be located opposite the locks on the hinge side of the doors. Is this to be the case on the exterior doors as well.
a. No, exterior doors windows do not need to be opposite the locks on the hinge side of the door
7. What are the requirements for light/lite kits in interior and exterior doors
a. Interior Doors: should have light/lite kits opposite of the lock on the high side of the door. ¼” tempered glass for the interior doors
i. Example:
b. Exterior Doors: Glass should be 1” insulated
i. Example Size:
8. There is an error with Door Ex.8, in the RFP it is listed as to be “integrated with existing door access control”. This access control is being moved from Door Ex.8 to Door Ex.7, Door Ex.7 will need to be integrated with existing door access controls.
