About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) for a Cost-Effective Radio-Controlled Class 3 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center. Key technical requirements include a UAS that can be operated by three or fewer people, operate autonomously, have an open system architecture, weigh between 55-1,320 lbs, operate below 18,000 feet, and support multiple launch methods.
The RFI requests detailed information from potential vendors, including certification requirements, support equipment needed, business size, catalog pricing, and estimated quotes for 6 and 10 drone packages with associated support equipment and training. The solicitation (FA8213UAS) is currently in pre-solicitation stage and is not a formal contract solicitation, with no obligation for the government to cover contractor response costs. Interested parties are asked to provide comprehensive details about their UAS capabilities, pricing, and operational characteristics to help the Air Force assess potential solutions for their specific unmanned aerial system requirements.
