About this file

This is a California Civil Rights Laws Certification document required for state and local contract opportunities in California. The certification applies to bidders and proposers executing or renewing contracts valued over $100,000 on or after January 1, 2017, for the State of California. The document requires certification of compliance with two primary California civil rights statutes: the Unruh Civil Rights Act (Civil Code Section 51) and the Fair Employment and Housing Act (Government Code Section 12960). The related contract opportunity involves procurement of shelter and weather monitoring equipment, specifically one shelter and tower trailer, six 33-foot aluminum weather towers, and six aluminum weather tower bases with tilt and frame components.

The certification must be executed by an authorized representative of the bidding firm under penalty of perjury, with the signatory required to provide the firm name, federal identification number, printed name and title, date executed, and the county and state where execution occurred. This certification serves as a compliance verification mechanism for California's civil rights requirements and must accompany bids or proposals for eligible contracts. The document also addresses discriminatory policies, requiring contractors to certify that any internal policies regarding sovereign nations or peoples recognized by the U.S. government are not applied in violation of the cited civil rights statutes.
