QUESTION RECEIVED
1. Will there be a required minority (DBE/WBE) participation for this project?
There are no DBE/WBE participation requirements for this project.
2. Instead of stump removal, can mulching be done to ground level? Will disturbed work areas and creek banks need to be grassed afterward?
Yes, mulching to ground level is acceptable. All disturbed areas, including creek banks, must be grassed upon completion as directed by the Engineer. This is considered an absorbed item.
3. Is the “length of project” the distance running parallel to the roadway? And is the “Right of way” the distance running perpendicular to the roadway?
Yes, the “length of the project” refers to the distance running parallel to the roadway, while the “Right of Way” refers to the distance running perpendicular to the roadway. For clarification, the Right of Way distance shown on the Bid Proposal Form represents the full width from one Right of Way limit to the opposite Right of Way limit, not from the roadway centerline to a single Right of Way limit.
4. Can cleared trees be left on site, or must they be removed? Is mulching acceptable for trees along the banks?
All cleared trees must be removed from the site. Mulching is an acceptable method for tree removal.
5. Are stumps required to be removed, or can they remain in place?
Stumps are to be removed completely or mulched to ground level.
