STATEMENT OF WORK
Replace Chiller Compressor
I. GENERAL INFORMATION
A.
Introduction.
Our mission statement at the USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC) is to provide USGS science to Louisiana, the Southeastern States, the U.S. Caribbean, and elsewhere in the world. We are also leaders in seeking new and innovative ways to meet the critical need for sound, objective scientific information that can be applied to issues of local to international concern.
USGS wishes to replace a chiller compressor compatible with the existing chiller/air handling system. The compressor is to be delivered, setup, and tested at the Wetland and Aquatic Research Center located in Lafayette, LA, 70506. Proposals shall include purchase cost of compressor as well as delivery, installation, complete setup, pressure testing, operational testing and subsequent oil change.
II. WORK REQUIREMENTS
A. Technical Requirements:
a. Existing Chiller Unit:

b. Installation of new Trane Compressor:
i. Model: CHHO0M21KJ0R092AANN
ii. Serial Number: N21H01537
B. Scope of Work:
· Vendor shall provide all necessary materials and labor.
· Remove and store refrigerant to be used to restart the system after repair.
· Remove failed screw compressor.
· Provide and install new 85-ton Trane screw compressor.
· Install new equipment including dryers, oil filter, and oil as needed.
· All systems to be tested and checked for leaks.
· Charge the system with required oil amount.
· Clean out system by vacuum according to industry standards.
· Refill system with stored refrigerant.
· Perform start up with new compressor and verify chiller is working properly.
· Run for a period of 200 hour to verify all liquid and gas levels are sufficient are within the acceptable operating range.
· Following the 200-hour test, replace compressor oil and oil filter to ensure that the oil is clean.
· Vendor to return core to manufacturer for inspection.
· USGS to provide forklift as needed for compressor removal and installation.

In the event the contractor encounters difficulty in meeting performance requirements, or when it anticipates difficulty in complying with the contract delivery schedule or date, or whenever the contractor has knowledge that any actual or potential situation is delaying or threatens to delay the timely performance of this contract, the contractor shall immediately notify the Contracting Officer and the COTR, in writing, giving pertinent details. This data shall be informational only in character.
