CAROLINE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND PARKS
SHARP ROAD PARK PARKING LOT PAVING
RFP# CCDRP2027-01
Question & Answers
1. When will NTP be given
a. This will depend on the total price. If over $40K it will have to go to the agenda. We would hope to have to the Commissions for the Oct. 20th meeting. NTP would be shortly after the meeting.
2. Was the concrete parking pad eliminated that is showed on plan C-102.2?
a. Bid is for asphalt only.
3. What is the paving section there is no detail on the plans?
a. This update was posted on the website 1.5” • 9.5mm SUPERPAVE HOT MIX ASPHALT SURFACE COURSE 1.5” • 12.5mm SUPERPAVE HOT MIX ASPHALT BASE COURSE
4. Does striping need to be included in price?
a. Striping is a contingency item.
5. Do parking bumpers need to be included in price?
a. No
6. Please confirm whether any bid bond or other bid security is required with the bid submission.
If not, are performance and/or payment bonds required after award, and if so at what percentage?
a. Bid bond is NOT used
b. The selected bidders shall furnish a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price.
7. Please confirm whether the approximately 25,000 SF identified in the solicitation is the quantity bidders should carry for pricing or whether bidders are expected to establish final quantities by field measurement.
a. The 25,000 was approximate. Bidders should measure themselves/use plans and bid the price appropriately. We did not bid it by SF, it is one lump price.
8. If unsuitable subgrade, failed base, or additional stone/base repair is encountered during preparation, should that work be included in the base bid or handled as additional work?
a. Base is already completed. Any additional prep would be considered additional work or a change order that needs to be approved before additional work is started.
9. Please confirm whether pavement markings/striping, ADA markings, shoulder restoration, drainage adjustments, or other restoration beyond grading and installation of the specified 9.5mm surface are included in the base scope.
a. No, these are not in the base price. Location is ready for paving
b. Striping is a contingency item
