C.3.2.6 (page 8 of 84) states “Engineering drawings are typically the landlord’s responsibility. The Contractor shall coordinate with engineers to ensure that the Engineering drawings conform to OCC’s design intent.” This conflicts with the reminder of this paragraph. “ In addition, the Contractor shall issue complete architectural and engineering documents to the landlord for bidding and possess the capability to stamp and seal construction documents in all 50 states.”
The Contractor shall coordinate with the engineers to make sure the engineering drawings conform to the OCC’s design intent. Once the engineers have incorporated comments made by the Contractor, the Contractor will submit the completed architectural and engineering drawings to the Landlord for pricing. The Contractor will stamp and seal the architectural drawings and the engineer will stamp and seal the engineering drawings. The Contractor must be able to stamp and seal drawings in all 50 states.
C.3.2.6 conflicts with C.3.3: “The Contractor shall review and approve all necessary shop drawings, samples and submittals, etc…” Industry Standards and architectural liability insurance conflict with a Prime Architect to be contractually liable for the landlord’s selection of an engineer’s work.
The Contractor is responsible for reviewing and approving all shop drawings, etc. related to his drawings as the engineer is responsible for actions related to the engineering documents.
