Remote Video Surveillance Systems (RVSS) Request for Information (RFI) #: CBPRVSSRFI Questions and Answers

Q1:

Does CBP has a list of interested systems integrators or prime contractors available that a vendor could follow up with?

A1:

Please look at the “interested vendors” tab in the RFI. In the tab, you can (1) post your company information so that interested companies can contact you and/or (2) contact the companies that have already posted their information.

Q2:

Do you have an estimate on the timeframe for when the RFQ will be released?

A2:

The RVSS Upgrade Program estimates a solicitation release date between October and December 2017. Please monitor this RFI for updates to the estimated solicitation release date.

Q3:

My company can provide a component of the entire system. Should I submit a Product Spec Sheet to see if this is something that would be usable in RVSS operations?

A3:

All information is helpful. However, the Government is not seeking to acquire components. Rather, the Government is seeking to buy a fully integrated Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) or Non-developmental Item (NDI) system.

Q4:

Submissions requirements state the RVSS Capability Table is not to exceed eleven pages, single-spaced 12-point Time New roman font. However, the table in the RFI Response Document is currently 10-point Time New Roman font. Will 10 point Times New Roman font be allowed for the Table Response?

A4:

The Government is changing the submission requirements as follows: The RVSS Capabilities Table shall not exceed 15 (fifteen) pages, single-spaced 10-point Times New Roman font.

Q5:

The RFI Response Document is already thirteen pages. Will contractors be allowed to submit a separate eleven page document in lieu of the Capability Table in order to better detail how requirements may be unclear or to have sufficient room to restate requirements, as required in the RFI?

A5:

No. Please comply with RFI instructions as stated in Question and Answer 4.

Q6:

The ability to achieve a timely authority to operate (ATO) through the DHS/CBP security process can be a significant acquisition risk. Does the Government prefer solutions which have an active ATO within DHS/CBP?

A6:

The Government is looking for a system that best meets our requirements, acquisition risk included. Systems must be capable of obtaining an ATO.

Q7:

Request an extension to review all answers to questions and modify out response.

A7:

The Government is not granting any extensions. Please submit all information no later than 5 PM EST February 8, 2017.
