About this file
This is Amendment No. 2 to County Contract No. 2021-230, executed by Sarasota County, Florida and Benchmark EnviroAnalytical, Inc., a laboratory services contractor. The amendment renews the existing term contract for laboratory testing services in Category 3 for an additional one-year period effective August 23, 2024 through August 22, 2025. Category 3 laboratory services encompass microbiological testing (fecal coliform, enterococci, and E. coli), nutrient analysis (ammonia nitrogen, orthophosphorus, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, nitrate/nitrite, and total phosphate), residue and oxygen demand testing (biochemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, and volatile suspended solids), physical properties assessment (color, pH, turbidity, chloride, and specific conductance), metals analysis (iron, lead, and zinc), and specialized testing including chlorophyll analysis and field sampling services.
The maximum contract value for the renewal term is $300,000.00, with Amendment No. 2 updating the fee schedule to reflect current pricing for all analyte tests and services. The amended fee schedule introduces new pricing effective with this amendment, with representative increases across most test categories; for example, fecal coliform testing increased from $20.00 to $28.00 per test, ammonia-N testing increased from $13.00 to $18.00 per test, and field sampling rates increased from $60.00 to $64.00 per hour. The amendment also adds previously unavailable services including E. coli testing and chlorophyll a/pheophytin analysis. Expedited analysis multipliers remain available at 1.8x cost for 24-hour turnaround, 1.4x for 48-hour turnaround, and 1.2x for 72-hour turnaround. All other terms, covenants, and conditions of the original term contract remain in full force and effect unless specifically modified by this amendment.
