About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for the Cape May Municipal Authority in New Jersey outlining miscellaneous liner repair services for a landfill cap. The contractor will provide on-demand labor, materials, equipment, and supplies to prepare work areas and repair breaks, cuts, tears, and openings in existing liner materials through extrusion welding of in-place materials or replacement with new HDPE or LLDPE materials, as well as sew and stitch scrim reinforced liner and windscreen ballast installation. The contractor must deploy one lead worker/field supervisor with a minimum of two years' experience in seaming liner material and sufficient skilled crew members to maintain timely project progress. All necessary power sources, equipment, tools, welding materials, and miscellaneous supplies must be provided by the contractor to complete the work to industry standards ensuring an impermeable and stable surface that maintains the integrity of existing liners.
The existing geomembrane materials range from 40 to 60 mil thickness in either smooth or textured surfaces, with additional cap liner materials including 20 mil scrim reinforced liner and windscreen ballast. The Cape May Municipal Authority will provide work site preparation services including sweeping, shoveling, washing, or scrubbing of earth, dirt, sand, trash, or other foreign materials to provide clear access to work areas, and will remove and replace any tires or earth weights holding materials in place. All welding must be completed to industry standards to ensure completed repairs are impermeable, with field work potentially including removal of impurities that would prevent proper material union during the welding process.
