About this file

This document is a Darfur Contracting Act Vendor Certification form issued by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) for state procurement purposes. The form requires vendors to certify their business activities related to operations outside the United States, specifically focusing on business interactions with Sudan. Vendors must complete one of three clauses indicating their status: (1) no current or previous business activities outside the US, (2) having received written permission from the Department of General Services to submit a bid despite being a scrutinized company, or (3) having current or previous international business activities while certifying they are not a scrutinized company.

The certification specifically targets companies with business operations in Sudan, particularly those involved in power production, mineral extraction, oil-related activities, or military equipment production. The form provides multiple exemption criteria for companies that can demonstrate their business operations meet specific humanitarian, peacekeeping, health, educational, or regulatory exceptions. Vendors must sign and certify their statements under penalty of perjury, with the document serving as a compliance mechanism for California's procurement regulations regarding international business activities.
