About this file

This is a Scope of Work document for Contract No. C26935001, a Tijuana River Estuary Restroom improvement project in San Diego County, California, involving plumbing modifications, accessibility upgrades, and facility enhancements. The project encompasses three primary work areas: the alleyway, men's restroom, and women's restroom. Alleyway work includes relocating drain lines and vents to comply with safety standards, converting two urinals to waterless units, removing and relocating Sloan flush valves, replacing copper lines as needed, and evaluating the primary vent stack for ABS piping replacement. The restroom improvements require replacement of eight light fixtures with energy-efficient motion-activated units, installation of new lockable light switches, inspection and repair of furnace and ductwork, replacement of stainless steel sinks and toilets with porcelain fixtures while retaining existing Chicago faucets, interior painting, installation of four new ADA-compliant doors, and gender-specific signage. Additional work includes potential epoxy flooring coating and preservation of existing stall dividers. The project involves six toilet replacements, five sink retentions, and conversion of two urinals to waterless units across both restroom facilities.

The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to complete the work in compliance with applicable codes and industry standards. The State will provide temporary chemical toilet facilities through Diamond Environmental for the project duration. No City permits are required for this scope of work. The contractor is responsible for clearly delineating the work area with appropriate separation from the public, with available mechanical, plumbing, and electrical as-built drawings potentially provided by the State. The project emphasizes accessibility improvements throughout, requiring all fixtures and installations to meet current ADA requirements, including proper fixture heights and clearance standards. The Scope of Work does not include hot water line installation and specifies that the main underground drain line shall remain in its existing location to minimize costs.
