About this file
This is an Insurance Requirements exhibit for an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for mail house services. The document establishes mandatory insurance coverage requirements that all bidders and the selected contractor must maintain throughout the contract period. The contractor is required to obtain and maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, automobile liability insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage, and workers' compensation insurance in accordance with California state law. All insurance policies must be issued by carriers authorized to do business in California and rated A- or better by A.M. Best. The OCTA must be named as an additional insured on the general liability and automobile liability policies, and certificates of insurance must be provided prior to commencing work and annually thereafter.
The insurance requirements apply to the one-year mail house services contract with a budget of $427,000. The contractor must maintain continuous coverage throughout the contract term and any renewal periods. Proof of insurance compliance is a condition precedent to contract award and performance. The contractor bears all costs associated with obtaining and maintaining the required insurance coverage. These requirements ensure that the OCTA is protected against liability claims arising from the contractor's performance of mail house services and that adequate coverage exists for employee injuries and property damage during contract execution.
