Summary: Lake Drone Mapping Platform Specifications

This is a technical specifications document for the Oklahoma and Central Plains Agricultural Research Center (OCPARC) outlining requirements for a fully automated lake volume survey drone system designed to generate early warning flood alerts. The equipment will quantify lake volumes using artificial intelligence algorithms to assist farmers, ranchers, and producers in protecting croplands, livestock, and infrastructure including utilities, transportation routes, and commercial/residential properties.

The procurement requires three complete drone systems, each consisting of: (1) a drone with minimum 39-minute flight time, 3 kg maximum payload, 8.7 kg maximum takeoff weight, 15 m/s maximum speed, 2 km range, onboard computer with 1.8 GHz Quad Cortex-A53 processor, IR rangefinder landing sensor, four propeller motors (350W continuous/500W peak power), six spare batteries, and four fast chargers (≤2 hours charge time); (2) an NDAA-compliant 915MHz/2.4 GHz controller with 5+ hour runtime, redundant kill switch, emergency stop, gimbal control, and 1-hour battery charge time; and (3) a full-frame digital camera with 61+ megapixels, E-mount capability, 2500K-9900K color temperature range, quick-detach gimbal, one 24mm f3.5 lens, one 50mm f1.8 lens (only two thermal sensors and two 50mm lenses needed across all three systems), and 640x512 radiometric thermal imaging sensor. All equipment must be NDAA compliant and compatible with ESRI Site Scan post-processing software. Three protective travel cases for drones, controllers, and cameras (62.28 x 49.53 x 31.04 cm, ≤19.41 kg) and three battery/charger cases (≤17.01 kg, MIL-STD 810G/810H compliant) are required. Delivery to OCPARC AHERU in Stillwater, Oklahoma requires seven days advance notice and 24-hour ETA notification, with all personnel required to sign in and receive government escort.

Specifications Lake Drone Mapping Platform

1.0 Background

The Oklahoma and Central Plains Agricultural Research Center (OCPARC) requires fully automated lake volume survey drone for early warning flood alerts. This equipment is valuable in quantifying lake volume that will be used to generate early warning flood alerts from artificial intelligence algorithms. This data will assist farmers, ranchers, and producers to protect their croplands, livestock, and infrastructure (e.g., utilities; transportation routes for transporting crops from the field to processing plants, supermarkets, restaurants; commercial and residential properties).
