About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) from the US Department of Agriculture for dam maintenance work at the Shawnee National Forest.
The project involves mowing and debris removal services on two Forest Service-owned dams located in Illinois: Dutchman Lake in Johnson County and Frank's Tract in Pope County. The contractor must complete mowing on the crest and downstream face of each dam to the toe, including emergency spillways. Work includes clearing and disposing of logs, brush, and rubbish from the primary spillway riser inlets, lake shoreline, and dam crest. At Frank's Tract specifically, the contractor must remove all tree and woody debris from the primary spillway and any roots or debris blocking the pipe, and must machine place a minimum of 15 tons of Illinois Riprap Class 3 around the primary spillway to reduce future vegetation growth. All cleared and grubbed materials become contractor property and must be disposed of off Forest Service lands in compliance with local rules and regulations. The contractor is responsible for all disposal fees.
Site access is permitted from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. The contractor must provide signs, barricades, and fencing to prevent public access to the work site and must remove all litter upon project completion. Work must be finished by the end date specified in the contract. The contractor must provide resumes and qualifications for all employees. No government property is furnished, travel is not required, and no security requirements, data rights obligations, or Section 508 electronic and information technology standards apply.
