1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 WORK SUMMARY

Replace two booster pumps, plumbing piping, and other miscellaneous plumbing equipment at the Granite Basin Recreation Area. Work also includes replacing the water floats at the water storage tank.

The water system is currently shut down due to the booster pumps failure in May.

1.2 PROJECT LOCATION

From the Bradshaw Ranger District Office (344 S. Cortez Street, Prescott, AZ 86303), drive west on Aubrey Street, then turn right onto S. Montezuma Street. In 0.8 miles, S. Montezuma Street becomes Whipple Street. Drive 0.7 miles, then Whipple Street turns into W. Iron Springs Road.

Continue 3.0 miles, then turn right onto Granite Basin Road. The pump vault is another 150 feet on the left side of the road within a small, fenced area.

The water storage tank is 1.5 miles north of the pump vault along Granite Basin Road. There is a gated 200-foot access road that leads directly to the tank.

The Pump Vault, Access Road Gate, Water Storage Tank Gate, and Tank Hatch are all accessed by USFS key that will be checked out to the awarded contractor.
