About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a generator replacement project at the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center (CMNC), a USDA facility located in West Virginia at coordinates 38.183539, -80.252786.
The project requires removal and disposal of an existing 45kw propane standby generator and 200-amp transfer switch installed in 2003, and replacement with a new 30kw propane standby generator and 200-amp automatic transfer switch. The contractor must be licensed in West Virginia, maintain liability insurance, and ensure all work complies with applicable electrical and building codes. Two key deliverables are specified: (1) Replace Generator—remove the existing unit and protective cage (78" L x 36" W x 64" H), dispose of all demolition materials off-site, install the new 30kw generator on the existing concrete pad, connect to existing propane lines and new transfer switch, test functionality, and train government staff on operation; and (2) Replace Transfer Switch—remove the existing switch, install a new automatic transfer switch connected to the new generator, test all equipment, ensure code compliance and working condition, and train staff. Power disruptions must be scheduled outside normal operating hours with one week advance notice. The facility operates mid-April through mid-October with specific hours (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). The government will provide facility access during business hours (Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:30pm) and restroom facilities. All work must be completed by the end of the period of performance, and any government-provided property must be returned prior to final invoice payment.
