PART B. QUESTIONS/RESPONSES
Question 1: Can Owner send the model and serial numbers for both motors and compressors for both chillers? The model and serial numbers of the chillers alone do not help identify what parts are needed for both.
Response 1: See the following table.
CEP Chiller 7 NSCEP Chiller 3 Motor Model Number 024-34089-828 024-27802-411 Motor Serial Number 3Y40QQ-2 B07X-013601 Compressor Model Number YDHA-90DD YDHG-65VDD Compressor Serial Number GLLC 303146 SMRM-362060
Question 2: Both of these units appear to be in service. Can Owner provide insight as to why these repairs are being requested? Are there any underlying issues that Owner can make us aware of?
Response 2: Preventive maintenance due to the age of the units.
Question 3: What is the load limit of the floor at the CEP?
Response 3: 3,000 PSI https://reedycreek.box.com/s/1h460il7cnticya7z42olgz1vdxtveep

Question 4: Reference EXHIBIT A – Scope of Services, Section 2.3 – Compressors:
Item B. states: “Based on results of inspection by Contractor, worn parts will be machined or replaced as necessary to return to OEM specifications. All rubber goods (seals, gaskets, etc.) shall be replaced.” Is Contractor to assume any part that cannot be machined must be replaced? We could potentially be carrying expensive cost for items that would not need to be replaced. Perhaps it would be more cost effective to base the parts needed on the results of the initial inspection and submit a change order similar to the motor scope of work?
Response 4: Yes; worn parts shall be machined. The following language has been added in EXHIBIT A – Scope of Services if any replacements are required:
“Based on results of inspection by Contractor, worn parts will be machined as necessary to return to OEM specifications. All rubber goods (seals, gaskets, etc.) shall be replaced and oil changed. If replacement of any parts are required or recommended, Contractor will communicate with Owner regarding recommendations and additional pricing. Any additional scope requests will be addressed via contractual change management procedures.”
Question 5: Reference EXHIBIT A – Scope of Services, Section 2.3 – Compressors:
Line Item F. states: “Contractor shall provide refrigerant recovery unit and necessary refrigerant for NSCEP Chiller 3.” How much R134A refrigerant should Contractor include in the base bid? Perhaps a change order could be submitted after the existing refrigerant charge has been recovered and weighed?
Response 5: Yes; the language in the EXHIBIT A – Scope of Services has been revised as follows:
“Based on results of refrigerant recovery and weight, Contractor will communicate with Owner regarding recommendations and additional pricing. Any additional scope requests will be addressed via contractual change management procedures.”
Question 6: Reference EXHIBIT A – Scope of Services, Section 2.4 – Condenser Tubes:
Line Item B states: “Contractor shall perform Eddy current testing (“ECT”) of all condenser tubes. If greater than ten percent (10%) of tubes in any pass are outside specifications in CEP Chiller 7 or NSCEP Chiller 3, Contractor shall remove existing and furnish, install and test new Skip Fin Turbo condenser tubes. All rubber goods (seals, gaskets, etc.) shall be replaced.” Is Contractor responsible for the cost of 100% of the condenser tubes in the base bid? Perhaps it would be more cost effective for Contractor to submit a change order based on the Eddy current test results?
Response 6: Yes; condenser tubes shall be Eddy current tested. The following language has been added in EXHIBIT A
– Scope of Services if replacements are required:
“Contractor shall perform Eddy current testing (“ECT”) of all condenser tubes. If greater than ten percent
(10%) of tubes in any pass are outside specifications in CEP Chiller 7 or NSCEP Chiller 3, Contractor will communicate with Owner regarding recommendations and additional pricing. Any additional scope requests will be addressed via contractual change management procedures. All rubber goods (seal, gaskets, etc.) will replaced.”
Question 7: In EXHIBIT A - Scope of Services we are asked to “inspect” the compressors, but in EXHIBIT B – Bid
Pricing Form we are asked to “overhaul”. Please clarify.
Response 7: EXHIBIT B – Bid Pricing Form has been revised to read “Inspection”.
ITB # C006482 Page 3 of 4
Question 8: In EXHIBIT A - Scope of Services we are asked to “Eddy Current Test” the condensers, but in EXHIBIT B – Bid Pricing Form we are asked to “overhaul”. Please clarify.
Response 8: EXHIBIT B – Bid Pricing Form has been revised to read “Eddy Current Testing”.
Question 9: Should Contractor change the oil on the compressors as well?
Response 9: Yes
Question 10: Can a photo of the CEP Chiller 7 compressor data plate be provided?
Response 10: See the following.
CEP Chiller 7
Question 11: Can photos of the NSCEP Chiller 3 motor and compressor data plates be provided?
Response 11: See the following.
