About this file
This is a product specification document for bread and bakery items required under a Child Nutrition Program contract with Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) in California. SUSD is seeking a qualified bread vendor to supply fresh, whole grain bread products to district schools on at least a weekly basis. The required products include sandwich loaf bread, hot dog buns, English muffins, breadsticks, hamburger buns, hoagie rolls, and bagels, all meeting whole grain-rich specifications. All products must comply with USDA regulations and Child Nutrition Program requirements, with at least 80 percent of grains offered at lunch weekly meeting whole grain-rich criteria as defined in 7 CFR 210.2, meaning grain content must be between 50 and 100 percent whole grain with any remaining grains being enriched.
The specification document emphasizes that the ideal vendor must demonstrate consistency, strong food safety practices, and the ability to meet the scale and distribution needs of a large school district. No specific quantities, pricing terms, response dates, due dates, or contract award information is provided in this specification document. The vendor must be capable of supporting SUSD's mission to deliver nutritious, appealing meals to students while maintaining reliability in weekly product delivery.
