Section B: Description of the Supplies/Services Required

This requirement is to replaced weathered lock cores on Ellsworth AFB, utilize Best CORMAX Lock Cores

Section C: Justification for Soliciting from a Single Source

Lock cores must meet current Ellsworth Air Force Base (AFB) design standard and physical security requirements. Ellsworth AFB is a Best lock core military installation with no suitable brand substitute. Ellsworth AFB physical security hardware accepts Best lock cores and our maintenance team is fully equipped for Best lock core system maintenance and repair operations. The Best CORMAX lock core has been exclusively designed by Best's parent company Dormakaba for EAFB.

Section D: Efforts to Obtain Competition

Even though the requirement is brand name, the contracting office will solicit this to all vendors who have the capability to provide these items to the maximum extent possible to promote competition.

Section E: Steps to Preclude Future Single Source Awards

Provide a statement of actions to be taken by the requiring activity to preclude the necessity for future sole source acquisition of the same supplies/services (e.g., conducting a market survey to determine potential future sources).

Section F: Contracting Officer's Determination
