About this file
This is Addendum No. 2 to a Design Professional Services (DP) Request for Qualifications for the Bailey School of Music & Textiles Chastain Pointe Renovations project at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, issued on February 16, 2026. The addendum addresses seven questions submitted by prospective design consultants regarding project scope and parameters. Key clarifications include confirmation that specific suites (Suite 102 and Suites 201-207) are available for the project, though final utilization will be determined during the Programming/Concept Phase. The addendum confirms that solar panels are not part of the project scope, that a central HVAC plant is not anticipated, and that the existing HVAC systems are standalone split and package units that the selected consultant will evaluate and present multiple options for. Several elements, including stormwater cistern inclusion, greywater distribution, and decommissioning of a buried oil separator at the vehicle shop, remain to be determined during the Programming Phase.
The addendum establishes that the selected consultant, working with their engineering team, will be responsible for evaluating required and recommended site scope during early design phases to determine which scope elements are achievable within the established project budget. The consultant's evaluation will inform project team decisions regarding what scope can be included within the Stated Cost Limitation (SCL). This approach allows flexibility in defining final site work scope as design progresses and actual requirements and costs are determined.

ADDENDUM NO. 2
February 16, 2026
Project No.: BR-90-2601
Bailey School of Music & Textiles Chastain Pointe Renovations Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA.
Design Professional Services (DP)
1. Question: Please confirm total project area/existing suites in building 100 and 200 that can be used for this project. From the site visit, Suite 102 behind the Student Art Gallery is available and Suites 201-207 are available.
Response The suites that are utilized for the design will be determined in Programming/Concept Phase.
2. Question: Will the stormwater cistern be part of this project?
Response: To be determined during the Programming phase.
3. Question: Will the greywater distribution from the cistern be part of this project?
4. Question: Will solar panels be part of this project?
Response: No
5. Question: Current HVAC systems are standalone split and package systems. Please confirm that is intended direction for this project (central plant is not in consideration).
Response: Development of a central plant is not anticipated as part of this project. The selected consultant, in coordination with their engineering team, will be expected to evaluate and present “good,” “better,” and “best” HVAC system options aligned with programmatic requirements and available budget.
6. Question: Is there an existing (buried) oil separator at the vehicle shop that needs to be decommissioned?
7. Question: Could you clarify what site scope was assumed when the Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) was calculated, and what additional site work beyond the SCL we should anticipate providing design services for?
Response: The selected consultant will be expected to evaluate required and recommended site scope during the early phases of design for estimating purposes. Based on those findings, the project team will determine what scope elements are achievable within the established project budget.
