About this file
This document is a Vendor Questions and Answers addendum for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) related to the EMMA Solicitation BPM051562 for carpet removal and carpet tile installation at the DPP Silver Springs location. The solicitation covers a carpet replacement project where new carpet tiles will be installed in currently carpeted areas, with work to be completed after business hours between 5:00 pm and 4:00 am Monday through Friday, and between Friday at 5 pm and Monday at 4 am. An initial site visit has already occurred, and additional site visits will not be scheduled. The document provides detailed responses to 12 vendor questions covering logistics such as furniture moving, personal item removal, work hours, and specific installation details.
The document clarifies key project parameters, including that staff will be responsible for removing personal items and boxing them up, but employees will not move furniture. The contractor is not permitted to unplug computer equipment, and staff will handle equipment disconnection after a phasing plan is provided. Only areas currently carpeted will receive new carpet tiles, excluding kitchen and lobby areas. The carpet tile installation will involve multiple product samples, with specific products to be specified for each room. No asbestos presence was reported, and the project has an urgent timeline. Vendors with additional questions are directed to contact Lloyd Houston, the Procurement Officer, via email.
