About this file
This document is a California Department of Industrial Relations Blue Pages Index containing prevailing wage determinations for commercial building, highway, heavy construction, and dredging projects across various crafts and localities within California. The determinations establish mandatory wage rates for multiple skilled trades including Boilermaker-Blacksmith, Drivers, Electrical Utility Lineman, Iron Workers, Metal Roofing Systems Installers, Stator Rewinders, Telecommunications Technicians, Tree Trimmers, Asbestos Workers, and Building/Construction Inspectors. The wage determinations are effective through various expiration dates ranging from March 2026 through January 2027, with different rates established for specific geographic areas within the state. Each determination specifies standard eight-hour workdays and includes detailed overtime calculations for daily overtime, Saturday, and Sunday/Holiday work, with rates varying based on classification level and years of service for certain positions.
The prevailing wage rates establish basic hourly wages, health and welfare contributions, pension payments, vacation and holiday allowances, training fees, and other employer payments that must be provided to workers on public works projects. Rates vary significantly by craft and geographic area, with journeyperson classifications earning between $16.90 and $79.24 per basic hourly wage depending on position and location. Multiple determinations include predetermined increases effective on specified future dates through 2028, with increases allocated to various wage and benefit components. All determinations reference the California Labor Code Sections 1770, 1773, and 1773.1, and require contractors to make travel and subsistence payments to workers. The Office of the Director's Research Unit can be contacted at (415) 703-4774 for additional rate information and travel/subsistence provisions, and apprentice wage rates are available through the Prevailing Wage Apprentice Determinations Website for applicable apprenticeable crafts.
