The bid deadline has been postponed to June 28, 2024 at 2:50 PM. The addendum provides responses to several questions, including clarification that the awarded contractor will coordinate with each facility to accommodate their service needs, the County reserves the right to add or delete equipment during the contract term, a 2-hour response time is required for emergencies, and details on load testing procedures. The addendum also states that pump stations, water reclamation, and water production facilities will not follow the same schedule and the awarded contractor will work with each facility to determine their needs. A pre-bid sign-in sheet is attached.

The document outlines pricing terms, indicating that changes to the equipment inventory will be charged to the appropriate line item on the Bid Schedule. ADDENDUM #1

BL080-24, Inspection, Maintenance and Repair of Hoists and Cranes on an Annual Contract

**The Bid Deadline has been postponed to 2:50 P.M. on June 28, 2024.**

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

*Additional questions to be answered in a future addendum.

1. Can the awarded contractor start with the Annual Major Maintenance? The awarded contractor will coordinate with each facility’s representative to accommodate the type of service the facility requires.

2. Will there be any additional cost for additional equipment being added during the contract term?

The County reserves the right to add or delete equipment during the life of the contract. Any changes to equipment shall be charged to the appropriate line item on the Bid Schedule.

3. Please explain the two (2) hour response time. The awarded contractor must be on site within two (2) hours of being contacted by the Department of Water Resources for emergencies.

4. What/Who constitutes an emergency and how will this be communicated to the awarded contractor (i.e. Email, text, phone call)? The Department of Water Resources will determine if there is an emergency. The awarded contractor shall provide a contact person and contact information for emergency situations.

5. What is considered special equipment? Special equipment would be anything not normally used for repair or maintenance of cranes.

6. In regard to Section III, Item C Annual Major Maintenance, please provide the procedure for checking the load limiter, testing. The load limiter is typically done at the manufacturers factory typically 150% to 200% of the rated load. This cannot be safely done in the field in a building structure that was designed rated at 100% load. If you are required to test at greater than 125%, we will require a legal document stating that you take complete responsibility for overloading the system and building structure. The test load used must be at least 100% and no more than 125% of the equipment’s rated capacity, unless otherwise recommended by the original equipment manufacturer.

7. In regard to Section IV Load Testing, is the vendor assuming that they are providing a list of the load tests that they will be conducting each year to accommodate the 25% of load test assets per year requirement? If not, please provide the list of assets that you would like tested so that this can be priced accordingly. The awarded contractor will coordinate with each facility’s representative to accommodate the type of service the facility wants. The quantities in the bid schedule allow for each crane to be tested once every four (4) years. A list of the equipment is included in Appendix B of the bid invitation.

REVISIONS:

1. Pump stations, water reclamation, and water production will not follow the same schedule. The awarded contractor will work with each type of facility to determine each facility’s needs.
