About this file
The document is a bid specification from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) seeking quotes for producing printed programs for the Century and Heritage Farms Awards presentation at the 2025 Iowa State Fair. The project involves creating 2,950 printed programs with specific design requirements, including a 5 ½" by 8 ½" size, 40 interior pages, two-sided heavier cardstock covers, stapled binding, and separate sections for Century Farms (farms owned 100 years or more) and Heritage Farms (farms owned 150 years or more). Key dates include receiving the final name listing by July 25th, submitting a proof by July 31st, and delivering the completed programs by August 8th to the Hoover Building.
The quote should include all shipping costs, with shipping boxes weighing no more than 25 pounds and labeled with contents. The program has historical significance, originating in 1976 during the Bicentennial Celebration, and recognizes Iowa farm families with longstanding land ownership. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is partnering with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation to highlight these multi-generational agricultural achievements. Previous program samples are available for review upon request, and the specification notes that while Mohawk loop cardstock has been used historically, it is not a mandatory requirement for this iteration of the program.

Information for Century Heritage Farms Program
The Iowa Department of Agriculture (IDALS) is seeking quotes for the Century and Heritage Farms program. These programs are made available at the Century and Heritage Farm Awards presentation which will be held at the 2025 Iowa State Fair. This program recognizes the families associated with each Century and Heritage farm.
The Century Farms Program recognizes and honors those individuals who have owned the farm land for 100 years or more. The program began in 1976 as part of the Bicentennial Celebration, when over 5,000 certificates and farm markers were distributed across Iowa at local ceremonies.
Ownership and operation of a farm by members of the same family for one hundred and fifty years or more is a significant accomplishment. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship in conjunction with the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation established the Heritage Farm Program for farm families that have owned at least 40 acres for 150 years or more.
