About this file
This document is a Bid Q&A No. 1 issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for Invitation to Bid (ITB) #F4007 for the FABRIC SHELTERS INSTALLATION project. The project requires the installation of fabric shelters with specific dimensions of 70' width and 25' center height clearance. The project is located in Broward County and Fort Lauderdale City, Florida. A site visit is scheduled for April 21, 2023, from 2 pm to 5 pm, and interested bidders must contact Gabe Tiska at 772-201-8513 to schedule a visit. The bid opening date is April 26, 2023, and bidders must acknowledge receipt of this Q&A document by returning it to the Procurement Office by the bid opening date.
The document provides responses to four questions related to the shelter dimensions, enclosure requirements, and the opportunity for further clarification. FDOT has specified the required dimensions and confirmed that the sides (70') are to be covered to the ground with the ends (40') left open to allow access under the shelter. Additional opportunities for clarification or site visits are not available, and all questions must be submitted via email to the designated address.

RE: ITB #: F4007
ITB TITLE: FABRIC SHELTERS INSTALLATION
OPENING DATE: 4-26-2023
Notice is hereby given of the following answers to questions regarding the above-referenced
ITB:
# Questions Answers
1. a.) Do you truly need 70’ width and 25’ Center
Height clearance?
Yes
1. b.) The reason that I ask is that these prefabricated structures typically have a standard width and pitch with the roof. For our product the dimensions would be:
i. 66’ wide x 42’ long x 21’ center height x 11’ side wall or
ii. 66’ wide x 42’ long x 23’ center height x 13’ sidewall or
iii. 82’ wide x 42’ long x 24’ center height x 11’ sidewall or
iv. 82’ wide x 42’ long x 26’ center height x 13’ sidewall
Understood, we require the dimensions identified in the specification package.
1. c) If what you are doing under these shelters requires the 25’ center height and 66’ width, then I would have to increase the side leg height to a 17’ leg resulting in a product being 66’ wide x 42’ long x 27’ center height x 17’ side wall. Please let me know which option meets your needs and fits your site.
We require the dimensions noted in the specification package.
2. Are all 4 sides (the 2-70’ sides and 2-40’ sides) fully enclosed with sidewalls? or do you need one 70’ end open for 25’ height access in and under the shelters?
The sides (70’ ) are to be covered to the ground with the ends (40’) open to allow access under the shelter.
3) Exhibit “A” Scope of Services requires the Contractor to examine each site of the proposed work before submitting a proposal for the work to be completed.
a. Could you please let me know some dates and times available for a site visit?
Site visit is available for Friday April 21st, 2023.
From 2pm-5pm. Please contact Gabe Tiska @ 772- 201-8513 to schedule a site visit.
4) Is there any opportunity that we can connect via phone or video conference or perhaps on site so that we can better understand your needs and expectations for these shelters/structures?
No, questions must be submitted only via the e-mail address: d4.designbuild@dot.state.fl.us
ITB F4007
