About this file
This document is Addendum #2 for Bid No. 4114GM, issued by Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) in Ocala, Florida, for the District-Wide Wireless Access Point Replacement Project. The addendum clarifies several key aspects of the bid, including the requirement for a five-year enterprise license for each wireless access point, and extends the bid submission deadline from February 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM to February 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The project involves replacing wireless access points across 41 schools, with installation to be completed by October 2025, working after school hours (Monday through Friday, no later than 11:00 PM). The bid seeks 2,390 new Cisco Meraki MR-46 wireless access points or equivalent, with existing power and network cables to be reused.
The addendum provides additional details about the project specifications, including mounting heights of access points (averaging 7' to 10', with some up to 24'), and clarifies that vendors must be authorized resellers. Bidders are required to submit a separate document showing the cost of each access point and license individually, ensuring pricing matches the Proposal Form. The project is part of an E-Rate program, and vendors are instructed to factor the five-year enterprise license into their bid pricing. The installation can start no earlier than April 1st, 2025, with invoicing not permitted until July 1st. The document emphasizes that any equivalent equipment must meet the minimum specifications and integrate seamlessly with the current system.

RE.: Addendum #2 Bid No.: 4114GM Bid Name: District‐Wide Wireless Access Point Replacement Project
To Whom It May Concern:
The following questions(s) have been asked, the associated response is bolded, in red:
Does this bid require the awarded contractor to replace existing power/CAT5/CAT6 with brand new runs or will the awarded contractor be reusing the existing power/cat5/cat6 cables to reuse for the new WAP units?
No, the vendor will use existing cables.
Which type of license (advance or enterprise) and duration should be considered?
Five‐year Enterprise License or equivalent. This Addendum clarifies this requirement.
The Contract Term Modification section in the invitation indicates “an E‐rate program year”, that’s why we are considering only one year of license subscription in the proposal. How many years of subscription should we include? This is to offer a better price/value solution considering a multi‐year subscription discount?
Five‐year Enterprise License or equivalent. This Addendum clarifies this requirement.
The invitation doesn’t mention anything about bands but attached excel file and described model only supports 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. Are you planning to enable 6GHz band for this project or in a short term?
Please reference the bid. The vendor must be an authorized reseller, and vendors are welcome to submit bids for any equivalent equipment.

The invitation indicates that the installation will be done after school hours and will be use the exact location of the old access point. Could you specify the schedule including start and maximum finish time and if weekends are included?
The schedule will be Monday through Friday after school and no later than 11:00 PM. No weekends.
Do you know the average mounting height of existing access points? And if is there any exception about extra height?
The average height is 7’ to 10’, however we do have some that are mounted at 12’ to 24’.
Is July 1st the deadline to complete the installation of all projects? If no, could you specify the expected beginning date and deadline for installation?
No, the installation date can start no earlier than April 1st, 2025 with the expected completion of this by October 2025, but invoicing cannot begin until July 1.
