About this file

This is a technical specifications document for a sealed bid solicitation issued by the University of Southern Mississippi for the purchase and delivery of aquaculture tanks for use in a recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility. The University is requesting ten (10) single-wall, non-insulated vertical storage tanks with a nominal capacity of 10,000 gallons each. The preferred manufacturer is Snyder Industries Model No. 32036 or an approved equivalent. All equipment must be new, unused, and of current production; demonstration, refurbished, or prototype units are not acceptable. The specifications establish minimum acceptable standards, and equivalent products will be considered at the University's sole discretion based on performance, design, durability, and compatibility with existing systems. Tanks must be constructed of FDA-compliant food-grade virgin HDPE 942 polyethylene using one-piece, seamless, rotationally molded construction with approximate dimensions of 142-inch diameter by 166.5-inch height. Each tank shall include a 26-inch threaded vented lid, three (3) 2-inch polypropylene bulkhead fittings at the bottom, and between one (1) and five (5) additional 2-inch fittings in the reinforced dome, with exact locations to be determined by the University after award and prior to fabrication.

Delivery is required FOB Destination to the University of Southern Mississippi, with the vendor responsible for coordinating the delivery schedule with University personnel prior to shipment and providing advance notice of delivery along with any special unloading, lifting, or handling requirements. All equipment shall be fully assembled to the greatest extent practical, and the vendor shall provide manufacturer installation and handling documentation upon request, with all shipments to include a packing list and applicable installation, handling, and maintenance documentation. The tanks must meet NSF/ANSI Standard 61 and FDA compliance certifications and be suitable for continuous use in wet, high-humidity environments with materials that are non-toxic, corrosion-resistant, and safe for aquatic environments. The tanks will be utilized for filtered water storage and system support in the aquaculture facility for bulk water storage for system pretreatment, disinfection processes, and staging of water prior to distribution within the facility.
